Part of the charm of Bettws Bach is that it is incredibly peaceful and away from the beaten track. However, the downside of this is that it can be hard to find! Google Maps are very good. Simply enter the Postcode (SA42 0RX) and it gives you a very good idea of where the house is. You'll still need to read through the directions, however, as the house is down a very small track which isn't shown on many maps.
Bettws Bach is on the western edge of Newport, Dyfed. It is just off the A487 which runs between Cardigan and Fishguard (a major ferry port for Rosslare, Ireland). Approach on the A487. If you're coming from the direction of Fishguard, go through Dinas and a couple of miles later there will be a small Bed and Breakfast just before the crest of a hill on the left side of the road, with a left turning just after it signposted FEIDR BRENIN.
If you're approaching from the direction of Cardigan, you need to go through Newport on the Fishguard road, and half a mile out of the town you climb a steep hill. Just after the crest you will see the junction off to the right, signed FEIDR BRENIN.
This lane is initially fairly narrow, but has areas to pass other cars, and widens after just a short while. Proceed down Feidr Brenin, past some bungalows, and the first junction you come to will be a crossroads with a road called Feidr Ganol. (Users of GoogleMaps will find that their map runs out at this junction!) Take a left turning. Almost immediately the road forks; take the right-hand fork. Proceed down this track. After around a hundred yards you will have a house on your right called Bettws Newydd. At this point the track curves to the left and there is a junction down a (smaller!) track with a small sign saying Bettws Bach. Even though your SatNav may think you've fallen off the world, you'll have arrived.
